Tamara Jacket is a short, casual jacket made in teddy fabric with suzani embroidery. It has long straight sleeves, a curved neckline, and can be closed by two sets of tie strings at the front placket. The jacket is finished with floral lining made in leftover cotton and bindings covering the edges. It is decorated with voluminous, eye-catching suzani embroidery placed along the edges and on the two front pockets, and the armhole seams are highlighted with delicate cotton lace tape.

This Suzani embroidered item is decorated with the manually controlled chain stitch technique of Suzani embroidery. Our Suzani embroidery is made by Indian artisans, mostly using the tambour to create a unique and vivid Suzani embroidery pattern. The name Suzani comes from the Persian word su-zan, meaning needle. The Indian artisans use a hooked needle instrument called a tambour to create the intricate chain stitching that is the hallmark of Suzani embroidery. Due to the manually controlled nature of Suzani embroidery, you may notice little variations from one garment to another that add to the unique charm of a Suzani decorated item.
